OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. S7 Airlines the largest Russian domestic airline announces renewal of flights to Georgia from Moscow Domodedovo Airport.

The first flight after the discontinuation of air traffic between Russia and Georgia en route Moscow (Moscow Domodedovo Airport) - Tbilisi is operated.

Approval for flights issued by aviation authorities of both countries made it possible to resume operations to Georgia for S7 Airlines. According to the authorities S7 Airlines can operate the flights under the equal terms with Georgian Airways. In summer 2010 each airline will operate flights between Moscow and Tbilisi three times a week.

S7 Airlines is an authorized air carrier to Georgia from Moscow to Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. In the view of total resume of air traffic between the countries S7 Airlines would like to consider opportunities to start operations to Kutaisi and Batumi.

In 2008 before the air traffic between Georgia and Russia was discontinued S7 Airlines had been operating its flights to these cities on a regular basis.
