OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. Lenta LLC announces that Jan Dunning continues in his role of General Director of the company. Earlier, the Unified State Registrar of Companies confirmed that Jan Dunning is Lenta General Director.  

Jan Dunning has nearly 25 years' experience in retail. Prior to joining Lenta in November 2009, he spent 6 years as a top executive at Metro Group (in Ukraine and Russia). Before that, Jan Dunning headed a wholesale trading company Lukas Klamer Netherlands, and had earlier worked at a German discounter chain, Aldi.  

Under Jan Dunning’s leadership Lenta’s financial performance in 2010 has been outstanding.  Like for like sales growth outperformed other major retailers, at 18% in the first quarter and 22% in the second quarter.  Profitability has also grown rapidly, with EBITDA up 42% in first half 2010 versus year ago.  Over the past year, strong cash flow has also enabled the company to reduce its debts significantly, with the leverage ratio falling 40% to under 2x EBITDA as of June 30, 2010.
