OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. Russia and Kuwait signed a memorandum of the two countries intent in the field of “peaceful atom” within the framework 54th General Conference of IAEA.

The two countries intend to cooperate in the entire range of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, in particular, in design, development, construction of nuclear power plants, in the field of the nuclear medicine, the fuel cycle.

According to Head of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kirienko, Rosatom sees good prospects in cooperation with Kuwait within the framework of the signed memorandum”.

“We in Russia are consciously and ambitiously developing the nuclear power industry and welcome Kuwait plans concerning its development,” Head of Rosatom said. Head of Kuwait National Committee for Nuclear Energy Ahmad Bishara having signed the memorandum on the part of Kuwait noted in its turn that cooperation of the two countries “is stipulated in all principal directions in the peaceful nuclear power industry including the nuclear medicine, the fuel cycle, development and construction of nuclear power plants.”
