OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2010. Over the past weekend state-run provider Bakinternet has left its users without Internet.

Bakinternet’s head Mushvig Sadigov says that lack of Internet observed on 24-25 September was linked with upgrade of equipment in technical basis of the provider.

"We’ve worked on installation of modern router that meets needs of on-growing network of broadband Internet. New router CRS1 made by Cisco, has capacity enabling to serve 1 million users in our network,” Sadigov said.

At that, Sadigov pointed out that provider’s old equipment allowed serving of 25,000 users.

"Sharp increase of the number of users of Bakinternet’s ADSL services up to 28,000 and online users (at a time) up to 15,000 subscribers promoted to appearance of problems with Internet service,” the Bakinternet’s head explains.

He also added that new equipment capacities will ensure high-quality broadband Internet service in the next 5-10 years.
