OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Italian air carrier Wind Jet launched a new scheduled service from Moscow (Domodedovo) to Milan (Orio al Serio).

Scheduled flights will be operated three times a week by Airbus 320:

Milan has become the 6th destination of Wind Jet from Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The airline operates all-year flights to Forli and Verona as well as seasonal to Pisa, Torino and Catania. In 2009 the airline carried to Italy some 45 thousand passengers from Domodedovo.

Italian market of air traffic is widely represented in Domodedovo airport: Milan is the 11th city connected to the airport with some 20 scheduled flights a week supported by 20-30 charters depending on a season. 2009 saw about 260 thousand passengers carried between Domodedovo and 25 Italian cities.

Wind Jet based in Catania Fontanarossa Airport was established in 2003 to operate both scheduled and charter flights.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia. Its market share in total passenger traffic in Moscow makes 46%. At the moment 75 partner airlines (46 foreign including 12 representing the CIS States and 28 Russian) connecting over 234 destinations operate flights all over the world. The unique route network covered by Domodedovo partner airlines provides for 95 exclusive destinations. In 2009 18,7 million passengers benefited from Domodedovo services.
