OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. JSC FGC UES Branch - Backbone electric grids (MES) of North-West started reconstructing substation 330 kV Kamennogorsk (Leningrad region). Works are conducted within the project of expanding Vyborg converter complex. In the result of the project realization electric power transit to Finland will be enhanced as well as export volumes to Finland will be increased. Total amount of JSC FGC UES investments into the project will equal RUR 97.3 mln. including RUR 37 mln. in reconstruction of substation 330 kV Kamennogorsk.

In the course of reconstruction switchgear and control gear 10 kV will be replaced with a new outdoor switchgear and control gear 10 kV intended for producing, distributing and metering electric power and also for protecting AC electric grids. The new outdoor switchgear and control gear will be equipped with advanced current and voltage transformers, disconnecting links, over-voltage releasers and limiters. Also the substation will be equipped with auxiliary transformer with capacity of 0.37 MW. It is planned to complete all the work in the second quarter of 2011.

Under reconstruction of Vyborg converter complex works are carried out on modernization and expansion of substation 400 kV Vyborg. Currently cable channels were improved on outdoor switchgears 300 kV and 400 kV.

Within the project on Vyborg converter complex reconstruction, works are conducted to modernize and expand substation 400 kV Vyborg. At the moment cable channels are improved on outdoor switchgears 330 kV and 400 kV. In the nearest time technical upgrade will be started on the third unit of complete rectifying-converter installation, valve device chamber of the second unit of complete rectifying-converter installation and fire-extinguishing system.

Substation 330 kV Kamennogorskaya with capacity of 250 MVA was put into operation in 1973. It provides power supply to the town of Vyborg and Vyborg district with population over 180 th. people and also to industrial mining corporation CJSC Lenstroykomplectatsia.
