OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. High-qualified professionals in any sphere are the greatest value of any country. UzKDB bank held a competition for talented youth of Uzbekistan and extended USD 20,000 grant for this purpose.

Every student will receive USD 1,000 grant as a tuition fee. The awarding ceremony was held on 24 September in Korean Educational Center, attended by the representatives of Korean embassy, UzKDB, etc.

The competition for students who have leadership potential, good academic results, was announced by UzKDB at the beginning of June 2010. This year the competition was held among students of the third and fourth years with good academic records from top universities of Uzbekistan.

As Nozima Yakubova, Head of UzKDB HR Department, told to our correspondent, many students from various universities applied for the scholarship. The bank experts considered all applications and invited candidates for an interview. After careful review 20 students were chosen as UzKDB grantees.

"Our main purpose was to open new opportunities and to provide new conditions for further self-perfection of young people. Those who received the scholarship fully demonstrated their talents and showed themselves as potential UzKDB experts."

"I am very thankful to UzKDB that helps students to believe in themselves and gives a good stimulus for further education and development," noted Tatyana Kim, one of grantees, student of the National University of Uzbekistan.

To be noted, some of students, UzKDB grantees, plan to use the grant to pay for the university contracts or buy additional text-books for further education.
