OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2010. Belarus’ Finance Ministry has posted a republican budget deficit of 2.207 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), or 2.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP) in January-August 2010, an official with the Finance Ministry told.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 18.742 trillion rubles in January-August, or 52.8% of the adjusted target for the whole year.

Revenues from foreign economic activities amounted to 3.5 trillion rubles, 34.4% of the target for the year, from the profit tax 2.171 trillion rubles, 61.1% of the target, from the value-added tax 6.898 trillion rubles, 54.8% of the target.

Republican budget expenditures reached 20.949 trillion rubles, 53.2% of the target for 2010.

Expenditures on welfare, science, culture, healthcare, mass media, sports, education, etc. amounted to 4.035 trillion rubles, 64.1% of the target for 2010, national economy expenditures were at 5.894 trillion rubles, 45.3% of the target, and general state expenditures at 8.362 trillion rubles, 52.9% of the target.

Budget arrears amounted to 62 billion rubles as of September 1, up by 3.3 billion rubles from January 1.

Republican budget revenues are projected at 35.524 trillion rubles, and expenditures at 39.409 trillion rubles. Budget deficit is expected at or below 3.885 trillion rubles.
