OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2010. International Conference “Modernization of Antimonopoly Bodies: Developing Priorities of Antimonopoly Enforcement and Competition Advocacy” opened in Yalta, Ukraine.

The conference focused on improving efficiency of the work of antimonopoly bodies in modern economic conditions.

Anatoly Golomolzin, Deputy Head of FAS Russia, gave a presentation on “Developing Competition on National and International Markets”.

Mr. Golomolzin talked about priority areas of developing competition policy in Russia and practical; cooperation between antimonopoly authorities of the CIS member-states within the framework of the CIS Headquarters for Joint Investigations of Antimonopoly Violations.

Anatoly Golomolzin also pointed out that that Russia is going through quality changes in antimonopoly enforcement that enable effective prevention of violations of competition. Anatoly Golomolzin said that development of exchange trade with the goods produced under limited competition is am important tool of market regulation.

An important task for FAS Russia is advancing practical cooperation with the CIS antimonopoly bodies to prevent cross-border violations within the CIS space, which is being successfully developed by the Headquarters for Joint Investigations.

The International conference is organized by Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee with support from the EU technical assistance project “Harmonizing the system of protection of competition and state procurement system in Ukraine and the EU”.

The conference brought together representatives of antimonopoly authorities from the CIS, France, Austria, Estonia, Bulgaria, officers of Ukrainian government agencies, “Promoting Competition in CIS” Non-Commercial Partnership.
