OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2010. In January to September, 2010, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 1.128 bn cu m, including 93.892 million cu m in September.

SOCAR informs that Russia became a major importer of Azeri gas – 618.005 million cu m (including 60.614 million cu m this September) over 9 months of the year (54.74% of all export). Iran ranked the second – 263.622 million cu m (18.933 million cu m), where gas is supplied under swap terms for gas supply of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia became the third with 247.355 million cu m (14.345 million cu m).

Export to Russia is carried out in compliance with the contract with Gazprom.

With SOCAR’s minimum obligations of 500,000 cu m, 1 bn cu m will be delivered in this year and in 2011 – up to 2 bn cu m and in 2012 – over 2 bn cu m to the Russian monopoly.
