OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2010. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 1.5% on the year in January-August to 1.641 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told.

Steel output increased 2.1% on the year to 1.775 million tonnes, and steel pipe output was up 70% on the year to 110,600 tonnes in the period. Standard quality wire output rose 35.3% on the year to 196,900 tonnes in the period, and steel wire output rose 33.5% to 47,900 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 60,600 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 34.8% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 13.3% on the year to 3.692 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-August 2010.
