OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2010. Tula branch No. 8604 of Sberbank of Russia announces introduction of the first stage of implementation of multiservice information and educational network (MIEN) in the Municipal Educational Establishment Secondary General School “Vozrozhdeniye” No. 2 (Tula, 26, Lenina St.), as part of the Interactive School project. JSB Sberbank of Russia has become the sponsor that provided grant financing for the project. The cost of the project amounts to some RUB 5 million. Implementation of the MIEN is performed by SITRONICS Information Technologies, one of the major system integrators in the CIS countries and Eastern Europe, reported the press-centre of SITRONICS IT.

The decision as to the implementation of the Interactive School project in one of the schools in Tula was made during the meeting of the governor of Tula Oblast V. Dudka with the President, Head of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref, which took place May 5, 2010 as part of German Gref’s working visit to Tula. The first stage of the MIEN implementation was completed by September 1, 2010, owing to which the pupils of “Vozrozhdeniye” School had a possibility to become familiar with ample opportunities of the Interactive School at the very beginning of the school year. The MIEN presentation on the basis of “Vozrozhdeniye” School was attended by the School’s Director Valeriy Avrutin, Head of the Tula Branch No. 8604 of Sberbank of Russia Andrey Shestakov, Head of Information Educational Systems Implementation Department of SITRONICS Information Technologies Andrey Bryunin.

The key objective of the Interactive School project is development of methodical potential and enhancement of possibilities for education with the implementation of information technologies into educational process with a view to crucially improve quality of education. As the result of the MIEN implementation at “Vozrozhdeniye” School a hardware-software complex “School Server”, which is to administer all of the 30 study rooms, integrated into a single school local area network, has been deployed.

Four classrooms are to be equipped with special interactive boards allowing to display explanatory materials, graphics, schemes and tasks for pupils. Just like an ordinary blackboard such boards can be used for writing, sketching and drawing, using an electronic stylus pen instead of chalk. Moreover, it will not be necessary for pupils to come out directly to the board even when checking their homework tasks: a special electronic pad will make it possible to input information right to the board from a pupil’s workplace.

In the course of implementation of further project stages 16 more study rooms are to be equipped with automated workplaces for teachers, with the installation of control computers. There is also a mobile computer class to be introduced on the school basis, which can be immediately deployed in any classroom of the school, if necessary.

A “trolley study room” integrates 25 pupil notebooks and a teacher’s mobile computer with preset basic and specialized software for collective studies into one intra-room WiFi network.

Moreover, an interactive touch screen panel is to be installed in the school entrance hall to act as a database of all the processes and events taking place in school and will be available to any pupil at any time. This panel will also provide access to Internet.

Manager of Tula Branch No. 8604 of Sberbank A. Shestakov commented on the results of the MIEN implementation: “Education should necessarily keep pace with the development of cutting-edge information technology, for which a foundation is to be laid at the earliest stage of education. The project at Tula “Vozrozhdeniye” School that is already known for its high-quality, complex and creative approach to the education of children, starting with the first grade, shows how to expand teaching opportunities by means of introduction of high technology tools and new teaching techniques. New technology implemented at “Vozrozhdeniye” School will certainly help today’s boys and girls get the most up-to-date education and later on be in great demand as specialists, wherever they go. Maybe some of them are the future of Sberbank.”

Director of “Vozrozhdeniye” School Valeriy Avrutin, in his turn, expressed his confidence that the implementation of the Interactive School in Tula is the beginning of the new enhancement stage in the sphere of education and a serious step towards development of a single educational nationwide information environment.
