OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2010. The Senior Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev on Monday during the meeting with the delegation of Hyundai Corporation discussed the possibility of supply to Ukraine electric trains for interregional expressways.

The project proposed by the Korean side, previews the supply, including in frame of preparation for Euro 2012, of 10 trains of Korean manufacture. The second stage envisages setting up a proper production in Ukraine: first unit assembly, then - aggregates, and finally - the production of spare parts.

The Ukrainian side main technical requirements to the trains are already practically agreed between Ukrzaliznytsya and Hyundai.

The project involves a loan from the Korean Export-Import Bank in the amount of 216 million USВ. Next week delegation of Korean financial institutions will arrive in Ukraine to discuss the terms of the loan.

Following a meeting the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev instructed the Ministry of Transport and Ukrzaliznytsya to work out carefully the conditions of the project and to report the final decision to the Government of Ukraine.

According to the company of Hyundai Corporation similar projects on Korean electric trains are already implemented in the USA, Turkey, Iraq and India.
