OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2010.  According to the Operations Dept. of Commercial Port of Vladivostok during January-September of 2010 Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 5.348 m tonnes of cargo: export - 3.09 m tonnes, import - 1.09 m tonnes, cabotage - 1.16 m tonnes.
Container volume amounted to 244,769 TEU: export - 90,201 TEU, import - 77,099 TEU, cabotage - 77,469 TEU.

In 3Q 2010 the port's cargo turnover totaled 1.96 m tonnes. Total export amounted to 1.1 m tonnes, while imports were 446,800 tonnes. Cabotage cargo constituted 416,400 tonnes. Container handling volume totaled 96,491 TEU (cabotage - 27,232 TEU, import - 33,101 TEU, export -36,158 TEU).

In September 2010 the port handled 699,000 tonnes: export - 407,600 tonnes, import - 151,000 tonnes, cabotage - 140,900 tonnes).  The number of containers handled totaled 33,236 TEU (cabotage - 9,325 TEU, import - 11,945 TEU, export - 11,966 TEU).

According to Chief Operations Officer Sergey Lopunov, summarizing the results of the first nine months of this year the port saw a 17% increase in cargo turnover compared with the corresponding period of the last year. The port hit 89% of the annual operational plan. Major cargoes handled were export metal products and coke, import containers, cars and heavy-duty vehicles. S. Lopunov pointed out that given the above trend the cargo turnover is expected to surpass 6 m tonnes towards the end of the year.
