OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2010. Wages in the public sector are expected to stay unchanged in 2011 compared to the year 2010, Finance Minister Andrei Kharkovets told the upper house of parliament on Monday.

“Next year, we will not have ambitious growth targets. The budget has been drafted to keep the real wages that we will reach at the end of this year. This way we will protect it from inflation. My opinion is that we will not hope for more at the current economic pace,” Kharkovets said.

The minister said he believed the average monthly wage would reach 935,000 Belarusian rubles (Br) in the public sector in 2010, and 1.26 million rubles in 2011.
