OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2010. New equipment Reprint has been implemented in Moscow Domodedovo Airport allowing for a baggage-less passenger to check in through a mobile phone (mobile check in) and than proceed to a holding area passing over check in counters.

Reprint unit is reading data from 2D bar-code in a mobile, printing out a boarding pass which is later presented to a security control officer. One can register in advance or on his/her way to the airport thus saving time for check-in procedure.

Reprint installation is inline with IATA standards for mobile check in service requiring an airline or an airport to save passengers from spending their time at a check in counter for obtaining a boarding pass. At the moment Reprint units are available just in front of all departure sectors. Passengers of such partner airlines of Domodedovo airport as British airways, Air Berlin, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brusseles Airlines, British midland Airways, Qatar Airways may benefit from mobile check in service. Transaero and S7 are planning to provide the new technology to their passengers in the near future.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport, awarded IATA Platinum Status, is the largest airport of Russia. Its market share in total passenger traffic in Moscow Aviation Hub makes 46%. At the moment 75 partner airlines (47 foreign including 12 representing the CIS States and 28 Russian) connecting over 234 destinations operate flights all over the world.
