OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2010. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly service (OFAS Russia) imposed a turnover fine – 17 million Rubles - upon “MRSK Severo-Zapada” OJSC under Article 14.31 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations for abusing its dominance on the market of electric power transmission, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Komi OFAS Russia applied a turnover fine based on its earlier decision to recognize that “MRSK Severo-Zapada” OJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The company infringed the interests of an individual entrepreneur, who owns “Dounaysha” store in in Kouzel village, Koigorodsky District of the Komi Republic. Due to the fault of “MRSK Severo-Zapada” OJSC power supply to the store was unlawfully cut off.

“Certainly we applied a heavy sanction to the company. It is because such violations are very dangerous for the society and normal performance of small business”, explained Tatiana Mikhailova, Deputy Head of Komi OFAS Russia.
