OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2010. In January-September 2010 Freight One increased its haulage of power-generating coal on internal Russian routes 2.2-fold to 17.1 million tonnes against the same period last year.

The main shipments were dispatched from coal mines located on the West Siberian (55.0% of the Company’s total load), Krasnoyarsk (18.1%), North Caucasus (9.9%) and Far Eastern (5.4%) railways.

In particular, in January-September 2010 haulage of coal from mines in the Kansko-Achinsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory) and Minusinsk coal basins (Republic of Khakassia) grew 3.1-fold against the same period of the last year to 4.07 million tonnes. This month has also seen positive dynamics: over the first 14 days of October JSC Freight One transported daily 340 railcars from the Krasnoyarsk and Khakassia coal mines, a 2.15-fold increase against last year’s figure.

JSC Freight One’s daily deliveries of fuel for Russia’s power plants and utility companies have also increased. Since the beginning of the year, the Company has served a daily average of 915 gondola cars against 422 in 2009. August was the peak month with 1 035 railcars per day-double the number in 2009. September also saw positive dynamics.

The main bulk of power-generating coal has been delivered under contracts with Russia’s largest coal-producing companies:JSC Kuzbassrazrezugol, JSC SUEK, JSC Krasnoyarskkrayugol, LLC Yuzhiy Kuzbass, JSC Primorskugol.

It should be noted that a number of communal and municipal utility enterprises have reported inactive downtime in the unloading of railcars of three or more days, which requires that action be taken to ensure the timely discharge of railcars.
