OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2010. Die & Mold Plant, a part of GAZ Group’s Automotive Component Division, has delivered 137 units of tooling to Ural Boeing Manufacturing – a joint venture of Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA which machines titanium stampings for serial manufacture of Boeing 787 Dreamliner wide-body passenger jet, reported the press-centre of GAZ Group.

Production tooling for Boeing 787 Dreamliner is made on Dynamill five-axis high-speed machining centre installed at Die & Mold plant. Dynamill is designed to machine large parts up to 80 t with high precision. The machining centre is used both for outside customers, and for in-house needs of GAZ Group. For example, Dynamill was used to create GAZelle-BUSINESS light commercial vehicle, over 200 dies were made in the framework of this project.

Cooperation with Ural Boeing Manufacturing became possible due to a radical renewal of the quality system at all plants of GAZ Group in 2009, including automotive component facilities. Director of GAZ Group’s Automotive Component Division Kirill Epshtein: “GAZ Group has all the necessary resources to fully satisfy the needs of the component market: unique technologies and experience in component manufacture, modern equipment and competitive price of the final product”.
