OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2010. In January-September 2010 the Moldavian industrial enterprises of all forms of ownership produced goods to the amount of 18 billion 666,6 million lei (USD 1,6 billion), increasing its output by 6,3% as compared to the same period of 2009.

As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the industrial output growth was due to the increased production at the processing industry enterprises - by 7,5%, stimulating the increase in the overall production volumes by 6,3%. The considerable growth was registered at the enterprises producing clothes - by 9,8%, wine – by 15%, tobacco products – by 41,4%, dairy products – by 8,8%, distilled alcoholic drinks – by 15,3%, footwear – by 21,8%. The production, processing and preservation of meat and meat products increased by 4,8%; processing and preservation of fruit and vegetables – by 5,1%.

The production of varnishes and paints grew by 16,8%, suitcases and bags – by 25,1%, medical and pharmaceutical products – by 28%, finished fodder for animals – by 9,9%, paper and cardboard – by 2,3%. The growth in the iron and steel industry made up 11,5%, publishing and typographic industry, reproduction of information materials – by 7%.

At the same time, in January-September 2010 the output reduced at the enterprises, producing vegetable and animal fats and oils – by 13,8%, other nonmetal mineral products (glass, cement, gypsum, etc.) - by 4,6%. The output of finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment decreased by 22,7%, rubber and plastic goods – by 8,7%, machinery and equipment – by 4,2%, wood and wooden products - by 19,9%, medical devices, precise, optical instruments - by 13,9%.

As it was reported before, in 2009 the volume of industrial output in Moldova amounted to 23 billion 266,6 million lei (USD 1,9 billion), 22,2% down compared with 2008. The National Bureau of Statistics doesn’t take into account the data on Transdniestrian region.
