OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2010. Cooperation between RF and Kazakhstan in the space and nuclear field can help the respective branches of the two countries reach a new level in the opinion of RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

On Friday, after the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State Russia-Belorussia as well as the meeting of the Customs Union “trio” the Prime Minister talked separately in a bilateral format to his Kazakh colleague Karim Massimov. In the course of the meeting K. Massimov noted, in particular, fairly good progress in such spheres of bilateral cooperation as the space and nuclear area.

The RF Prime Minister, in his turn, confirmed the fact of the progress in these lines of cooperation and thanked the Kazakh colleague for diligence with regard to these large projects.

“I make no doubt that their (the projects) implementation will make it possible for these branches of our economy to reach an absolutely new level of competitiveness,” V. Putin said.

Speaking about the general condition of the bilateral cooperation between the parties he noted that commodity turnover of the two states was on the rebound. “We’re coming out of the situation associated with the crisis and glad that the Kazakh administration, the Kazakh government are solving the problems of combating the crisis and coming out of the crisis,” V. Putin said.

He noted the importance of close cooperation ties between Russian and Kazakhstan. “I hope that like in the previous period we’ll timely respond to everything happening in our economies, exchange experience, react on the practical level from the point of view of particular enterprises activity in different sectors of economy, help each other both in the power economy and machine building,” V. Putin said.

K. Massimov noted, in his turn, that relations between Russia and Kazakhstan have always been at a high level.

“There were virtually no complicated issues. But in case they were we always managed to reach compromise solutions for the benefit of the two nations and development of the economies,” K. Massimov said.

He expressed the opinion that the agreements reached that day within the framework of negotiations on the Common Economic Space would contribute to further harmonization of the countries economies.
