OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2010. In September 2010 enterprises of railway, automobile, river and air transport carried out 984,3 thousand tons of cargoes or by 24,9% more than in August 2010 and by 21,4% more against September 2009. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in whole from January to September 2010 total volume of cargo transportations amounted to 5 million 674,1 thousand tons or by 1,8% more than in the same period of 2009.

In January-September 2010 the enterprises of automobile transport carried out 2 million 997 thousand tons of cargoes or by 27,7% more than in the same period of 2009. The largest share of cargo transportations in the total volume of cargoes, carried out by means of motor transport goes to the enterprises of Chisinau municipality – 50,7%, followed by Balti – 14,8%, Straseni region – 6,9%, Singerei region – 6%, Anenii Noi region – 5%, Ialoveni region – 2,6%, Causeni region – 2,6%.

In January-September 2010 railway transport carried out 2 million 580,2 thousand tons of cargoes or by 16,3% less than in the same period of 2009. In the structure of cargoes, transported by railway transport, the largest share fell to the following groups: crops and bread and bakery products – 28,4%, ferrous metals and scrap metal – 24,8%, building materials and cement – 15,1%.

The enterprises of river transport carried out 96,1 thousand tons of cargoes in January-September 2010 or by 31,6% less than in January-September 2009; and the air transport enterprises carried out 84 tons or by 44,4% more than in the same period of 2009.
