OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2010. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has successfully undergone the recertification audit of the system of its quality management (QMS). TUV International RUS Ltd., the authorized representative of the international concern TUV Rheinland Group, a recognized world leader in international certification, assessed the compatibility of the company’s QMS with the international ISO 9001:2008 requirements, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The fact that the company was certified according to ISO 9001 standard proves that Aeroflot is able to ensure a sustainable high quality level of service through the systemic approach to its quality management.

According to Vitali Saveliev, the head of Aeroflot Airlines Company, ‘the quality of services on offer is not only an issue of a particular company’s activities and is not just an indicator of the health of a particular economy. It is an issue of national importance because the quality of services determines the quality of life for the citizens of Russia in the long run and manifests one of the indicators of the health of the whole society.’

The ISO 9001:2008 standard is a new modified version of the ISO 9001:2000 international standard. The introduced modifications illustrate a tendency to integrate quality management systems with the overall system of company management.

The quality management system was introduced in Aeroflot in several stages. Aeroflot was the first Russian company to implement and certify a quality management system in the divisions of its production sector in 2001. The company’s commercial sector was also certified at a later point. In 2007 Aeroflot earned the comprehensive TUV certificate.

A comprehensive assessment conducted in Aeroflot in October 11 — 15, 2010 concerned the key departments of the airline responsible for the quality of the product and customer service, for flights, flight security, onboard services, ground support, occupational and environmental safety comprising 16 structural units of the company.

Based on the recertification audit Aeroflot’s QMS was recognized as compliant with current international standards.
