OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2010. The website of JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines was named the best company site of 2010 based on the results of the fourth annual competition of yearly reports and company websites, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

Major Russian companies took part in the competition; Russian Railways Public Corporation, Sberbank, Gazprom Neft and others among them. The website of Aeroflot won the first prize.

The selection was based on the convenience of presenting information and ease of site navigation, the site design and information content of different sections of the site catering to different target groups, the quality of presenting information, etc.

The group of experts of the fourth annual competition of yearly reports and company websites characterized the Aeroflot website as a highly professional communicative tool suited to a variety of audiences.

According to Vitali Saveliev, the head of Aeroflot Airlines Company, ‘being a high-tech company Aeroflot relies on the implementation of information technology in every sphere of production and commercial activity as a powerful tool for the improvement of the quality of customer service and economic efficiency.

The first prize in the "Best Company Site of 2010" nomination is above all the result of the work of the company’s IT division which managed to set the website working within a short period of time and to make it convenient and efficient for the user. The new website hits increased 4 times in comparison with the respective period of the previous year. The visitors of the website duly appreciated the site designed in a contemporary style based on the latest developments of IT technology.

Less than a year ago, on November 24, 2009, within the framework of the National Committee on Innovation Technologies in Transport, Vitali Saveliev, the head of Aeroflot Airlines Company, presented the innovative IT programs of the company to the Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and also demonstrated the work and functions of the new website. The company website of the airline incorporates a multi language interface, separate sections for cooperative clients and the Aeroflot Bonus cardholders, a convenient system of on-line bookings and so on. Passengers can book a flight and purchase tickets on the company’s website as well as check-in for their flights.
