OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. This was announced by Director of official representative of DHL in Moldova Nicolai Artemenco in the course of the press conference, dedicated to the results of 15-year activity of the company on the Moldavian market.

According to him, after the crisis, affecting the activity of the company in 2009, since the beginning of 2010 DHL in Moldova has had positive dynamics for development – in January-June the volume of postal sendings increased by almost 20% as compared to the same period of 2009. Nicolai Artemenco emphasized that the market of express-delivery and logistics was connected directly with economy development and reflected the main tendencies in the foreign-economic activity of Moldova.

According to him, the number of annual sendings over the last 9 years increased from 20 thousand up to 40 thousand per year, their average weight increased from 1,7 kg in 2000 up to 2,5 kg – in 2009. “While in 2000 the export-import ratio in the structure of postal sendings amounted to 1:4, in 2009 two import deliveries fell to one export one,” – Artemenco said. – The growth of activity of Moldavian companies-users of express-delivery services is very significant, they have near 70% of total volume of sendings (in 2000 – 50%).

At the same time, the volume of documents and business mail sendings reduces every year in favor of heavier cargoes, spare parts, equipment.” The staff of company numbers 50 persons contributing the DHL services to be available on a half of Moldavian territory – the company’s affiliates opened in 9 cities, in another 9 the company operates through the subcontractors. According to the estimation of DHL Regional Manager in the CIS countries Edward Kaspersky, the share of DHL amounts to 35-45% of Moldavian express-delivery and logistics market.
