OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. The international airport of Astana is actively preparing for the meeting of delegations for the participation in the OSCE Summit on December 1-2.

“If now the capital airport serves an average of 40 flights a day, so a number of flights will increase at least threefold during the summit. In this case, we have the important task - to meet guests at the highest level,” representatives of the airport told.

According to the information, the leadership of the capital's airport has been prepared and approved the action plan in preparation for the summit.

“Now as part of the plan, the work on expanding the platform and increase the aircraft parking is being completed,” according to the airport representatives.

“There is a need to purchase an additional amount of machinery in order to serve both more than fifty aircraft,” spokesman said noting that currently113 units of machinery were purchased.

“The reconstruction of the VIP-lounge, a catering room and a room for official delegations are being completed,” the spokesman said.

Generally, an enhanced mode of services will be forced during the summit.  An additional number of specialists from airports of Almaty, Karaganda, Aktobe, Atyrau, Aktau, Uralsk, Kostanai, Kokshetau Kyzylorda, Taraz, Pavlodar, Shymkent will be introduced.

Official delegations from 56 countries are expected to visit the OSCE Summit in Astana.
