Pavel Zaitsev has been appointed Vice President and Commercial Director of Rostelecom.  He will be in charge of forming the commercial unit and the Company’s marketing policy, overseeing the development of new products and services, and also managing the customer care system.

Pavel Alexandrovich Zaitsev was born in Yekaterinburg on December 14, 1977.

In 2000 he graduated from the Urals State Technical University with a major in Information Systems in Economics.

From 1996-2001 Mr. Zaitsev worked in various positions in the Department for Strategic Planning and Marketing of Ualsvneshtorgbank.

In 2001 he was appointed head of Uraltelecom’s service center (this company was turned into the Yekaterinburg branch of Uralssvyazinform in 2002), and in 2005 he was named head of Uraltelecomservice (a subsidiary of Uralsvyazinform), with job duties involving implementation of telecommunications services under the UTel trademark).  In May 2009 Pavel Zaitsev was named Deputy General Director and Commercial Director of Uralsvyazinform.

In October 2010 Pavel Zaitsev was appointed Vice President and Commercial Director of Rostelecom.

According to Alexander Provotorov, President of Rostelecom, the national telecom operator has become the consolidation hub for establishing the largest universal telecommunications operator in Russia with a diversified product portfolio which includes fixed-line and mobile telephony, broadband Internet provision, etc.  Hopefully, the experience gained by Pavel Zaitsev on the highly competitive Urals market, including the promotion of broadband Internet, cellular telephony and converged services, will be useful both in helping him improve Rostelecom’s current operating indicators, and also in tackling the challenges which lie ahead of the merged company.
