OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. CenterTelecom OJSC reports that the data transmission speed registered in the company's multi-service data transmission network's external uplinks exceeded 100 Gbps.

An achievement of such a high speed offers new opportunities for CenterTelecom subscribers. The very high network's transmission capacity allows all users of the company's broadband Internet access and data transmission services to send and receive big volumes of information with high speed and without reduction in transmission quality. For instance now a customer may transmit information recorded on three DVDs within a second; information recorded on a Blu-ray disc may be send through the company's network within 2 seconds.

CenterTelecom's multi-service data transmission network was put into operation in December 2007. The construction of the network has been held in line with modernization of the company's existing networks within the framework of the CenterTelecom's Program for Telecommunications Infrastructure Development for 2007 and Subsequent Years focused on urgent construction of the multi-service data transmission networks all over the regions where the company operates.
