OREANDA-NEWS. November 01, 2010. In President Hotel the Russian Federation and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) signed an Agreement for preparation of junior professionals for IAEA

On the part of the Russian Federation the agreement was signed by General Director of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko, on the part of IAEA – by General Director Yukia Amano.

Under the agreement, an authorized organization of the Russian Federation – Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation shall provide training and direct junior professionals to work at IAEA, or involve them in the projects where IAEA is an executive agency. The age of the junior professionals shall not exceed 32 years, they shall have higher vocational education in the appropriate field. In exceptional circumstances the applicants’ age may exceed the 32-year limit.

The young specialists are to work at IAEA (Vienna International Center, Austria) and also may be employed at IAEA laboratory in Zaybeyrsdorfe and IAEA subsidiaries in other member state of IAEA.

Once hired junior professionals become staff members, get the status of international civil servants and are subordinated to General Director of IAEA. For the period of their work at IAEA as international civil servants the junior professionals fall under the Staff Regulations and Rules of IAEA.

At employment of the junior professionals at IAEA the Russian Federation shall reimburse for such IAEA’s expenses as the salary, bonuses, insurance, cost of travel to the place of destination and back. The period of young specialists’ work at IAEA will be 12 months if not extended by IAEA by agreement with the Russian Federation.
