OREANDA-NEWS. November 3, 2010. Head of Karelia Andrei Nelidov has returned from a two-day working trip to Finland. As Head of the republic has informed, on results of this visit, brief though rich in content, there has been reached a provisional arrangement with the Finnish carrier concerning establishment of regular flights from Petrozavodsk to Helsinki at the price of about €200 for the round-trip ticket. There is also an engagement agreement concerning air travel from Petrozavodsk to Moscow. It is possible that the new flight schedule will be valid since the New Year.

Besides, some progress was achieved concerning creation of a technopark in Karelia where Finnish companies plan to develop and implement pilot projects to introduce modern technologies in the republic. As Andrei Nelidov has told, the agreement on construction of the technopark is extended for another year, and the Finnish party has assured that during this period real steps will be made to perform this agreement.

Andrei Nelidov has also held a meeting concerning creation of a new automobile customs station Syvaoro on the sector of the border in Lahdenpohja region of Karelia. According to the Head of Karelia, the Finnish party has shown a keen interest in positive resolution of this issue, as more than 50 representatives of authorities and private companies came to the meeting.
