OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2010. Company TTK is on the ending stage of large-scale project on increasing of its DWDM network capacity. The key feature of the project is that new fiber-optic channels are organized with 40 Gbit/s transponders. It was added from 1 to 8 fiber-optic channels with 40 Gbit/s capacity on the different parts of nation-wide network (excluding Kaliningrad and Sakhalin regions), reported the press-centre of TTK.

Installation of 40 Gbit/s transponders started in August and will be finished in the end of October with commercial service input of all upgraded segments of the network. Modernization is finished in 9 of 15 regional companies’ areas of responsibility.

After completing this project, the bandwidth of TTK’s DWDM network will increase in 2 times, and international channels capacity will increase in 2,3 times. The capacity of TTK’s nation-wide network on perepherial segments will be 80 Gbit/s, and on the high intensity data transit segments it will reach 540 Gbit/s.
