OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2010. The Saratov Refinery has commissioned a rail loading rack for dark products (fuel oil and VGO), a project that had commenced in 2008. The project investments amounted to about USD 30 mln., reported the press-centre of TNK-BP. 

The ceremony to mark the completion of the most ambitious project over last few years was attended by Alexander Romanov, the Saratov Refinery General Director, Alexander Strelyukhin, Deputy Chairman of the Saratov Region Government, Kirill Gorshenin, the Saratov Region Minister of Industry and Energy as well as general contractor representatives. 

“The loading rack is equipped with an air-tight rail car loading system which will reduce emissions by more than 1 000 tons a year. This is an important contribution into the improvement of the local environment" – said Alexander Strelyukhin.

According to Alexander Romanov, the Saratov Refinery General Director, this project is the first phase of TNK-BP’s large scale investment program to revamp and modernize the Saratov Refinery scheduled for 2011 – 2012. The Company plans to build an isomerisation unit, upgrade its hydrotreater and implement other projects aimed at producing of Euro 4 and Euro 5 oil products.
