RTS Released 2010 October Stock Market Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. November 9, 2010. In October 2010 the RTS Index went up by 5.27% to 1,587.14 points as of October 30, 2010 against 1,507.66 points as of September 30, 2010. Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was coming from the growing prices for Sberbank ordinary shares (SBERS) (up 36.59 points), Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZPS) (up 10.31 points) followed by ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL"  (GMNKS) (up 7.49 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, rose by 7.03% to reach 10,463.83 points (9,776.44 points as of September 30, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 Index went up by 2.21% to reach 1,995.51 points (1,952.39 points as of September 30, 2010). Key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest gain was demonstrated by the financial sector, with the RTS Finances Index growing by 10.24%. A significant increase was reported by the consumer and industrial sector with the RTS Consumer & Retail Index gaining 8.09% and the RTS Industrial Index going up by 4.26%.

RTS Siberia Index gained 2.90%.

In September the US dollar appreciated by 0.92% against the Russian ruble to reach 30.68 rubles per US dollar (30.40 rubles as of September 30, 2010).

In October 2010 the securities trading volume on RTS equaled USD 46.97 billion (1,423.62 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD10,809.91 million.

The top sellers of the month on the RTS Stock Market were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD 6,513.2 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD 1,961.9 million and LUKOIL ordinary shares (LKOH) with a turnover of USD 568.7 million. The share of the above securities in the turnover made up 59,14%, 17.81% and 5.16% respectively.

The top gainers of the month were ordinary shares of BashInformSvyaz  (BISV) that experienced a growth of 30.61% to reach USD 0.189, ordinary shares of JSC AVTOVAZ  (AVAZ) that went up by 29.73% to reach USD1.2 and ordinary shares of Open Joint-Stock Company DIXY GROUP (DIXY) that gained 26.57% to end up at USD13.1 per share.

The top losers of the month were ordinary shares of GAZ (GAZA) that lost 15.36% to reach USD 27.00, ordinary shares of OMZ (OMZZ)  that went down by 13.46% to reach USD 2.25 and Synergy, Co  (SYNG) that decreased by 10.25% to USD35.9.
