OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2010. Preparation of “IES” CC generating companies to the autumn-winter period of 2010-2011 is underway under the schedule. By September 1, all turbo-units with total capacity of 1,868MW and boiler units with total steam output of 11,257t/h were repaired and overhauled, and 100km of heating mains were reconstructed.

It is planned to complete all repair works in September-October. In 2010 “IES” CC intends to invest 13,6 billion rubles into repairs, technical reconstruction and re-equipment.

Even abnormal summer heat did not influence the repair works in the majority of regions of the company’s operation.  In order to improve working conditions some works were transferred to the evening and night, the rest time was prolonged and there were used and if necessary installed additional air-conditioning and ventilation systems. Such measures enabled to minimize the risk of repair works failures.

Severe working conditions did not become an obstacle in realization of summer repair campaign in “Generation of the Urals” Division for autumn-winter period of 2010-2011. All repairs and overhauls related to 22 boiler-units with total steam output of 4,488t/h, 6 turbo-generators with capacity of 373MW and 2 water boilers with calorific power of 200Gcal/h were completed by September. Overhauls were completed on the main equipment (boiler units and turbines) of the following power plants: Perm CHPP-14, Chaikovsk CHPP-18, Sosnogorsk CHPP and Yoshkar-Ola CHPP-2. Heating mains in Izhevsk and Yekaterinburg were overhauled. The heating mains in Perm on Ostrovskogo st., and Stakhanova st. were totally replaced by the pipes made from the modern materials. This will provide reduction of heat losses within heat transfer to consumers. In total there were repaired 19,810 meters of heating networks.

“Integrated Energy Systems” Company established a special headquarter on preparation and operation in 2010-2011 autumn-winter period. It is headed by Andrey Vagner, the first Vice-President – the Operational Director of “IES” CC.   The headquarter’s objectives include:  coordination and monitoring of fulfillment of investment, repair and production programs, making of fuel reserves, provision of readiness of equipment to maximal loads and other measures required for reliable and accident-free operation within the coming autumn-winter period.   Besides, the headquarter monitors fulfillment of resolutions of All-Russian Meeting on results of operation in autumn-winter period of 2009-2010, as well as cooperates with other power industry and government authorities when performing the functions.
