OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2010. Viktor Leonidov, Chairman of the Board, Kreditprombank, in his interview to business weekly "Investgazeta" gave his opinion that actually there exists the immense potential to renew the lending. "During the crisis period a considerable unsatisfied demand for credit resources has been accumulated. Meanwhile the circle of reliable customers has substantially shrunk as well. For this we are expecting for a sharpening of competition among the banks for reliable customers", - noted Viktor Leonidov, reported the press-centre of Kreditprombank.

At the same time the head of Kreditprombank deems that return to the lending market will be gradual, with conservative terms and more tough approaches to borrowers estimation. "It is necessary first of all to make the borrowers themselves to resist the temptation "to live on tick". Before crisis, when the loans were widely available, few borrowers wondered about the principle "to live within means" and very often a person has been just unable to assess his real possibilities, say nothing of envisaging some possible exchange rate fluctuations and as a result increase of payments on loan. After "correction of mistakes" the banks definitely will select future customers more thoroughly. And in order to make the lending more large-scale and available great changes should be in place: first of all it is the growth of economy and, consequently, of population incomes, reduction of inflation and unemployment level", - underlined Viktor Leonidov.

Speaking about the dynamics of interest rates on loans the Chairman of the Board of Kreditprombank suggested that in case, if the situation in the country’s economy stabilize and the excess liquidity retains in the domestic financial market, the banks till the end of this year can reduce the rates on existing loans in Hryvnia for natural persons by 2-3% per annum.
