OREANDA-NEWS. As of 22 November 2010, the trading and transaction currency of NASDAQ OMX Vilnius will be the euro. As of that date, the price of equities listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange will be displayed in euros. The transaction orders given to the Vilnius Stock Exchange must also be specified in euros instead of litas, reported the press-centre of SEB Pank.

We also recommend using euro accounts upon making transactions on the Vilnius Stock Exchange, which enables to avoid currency exchange costs.

In relation to the changes in the trading currency, SEB Pank will not accept transaction orders of equities listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange the term of validity of which is later than 19 November 2010. After the trading day of 19 November, NASDAQ OMX will cancel all pending transaction orders of Lithuanian equities.

The tick size on all three Baltic stock exchanges will also change as of 22 November. The tick size will be 0.001 euros on the Tallinn and Vilnius Stock Exchanges and 0.001 lats on the Riga Stock Exchange. This means that as of the given date, it is possible to specify the price in the transaction order at the accuracy of up to three decimal points.
