Singapore Airlines Operates Two More Flights from Domodedovo Airport

OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2010. One of the leading partner airlines of Domodedovo airport marks the opening of new winter season by complementing a very popular service Singapore (Changi International) – Moscow (Domodedovo) – Houston (George Bush Intercontinental) with a one more frequency. Effective from November 1 2010 Singapore Airlines operates two more flights on the route making this service daily.

March 23 of 2008 was a historical day for Domodedovo airport when Singapore Airlines operated its first scheduled flight first ever in the airport’s history to Houston – the oil capital of the United States. The popularity of a new flight Singapore – Moscow (Domodedovo) – Houston – Moscow (Domodedovo) – Singapore prompted to increase its frequency to five per week prior to New Year holidays in 2009.

Constantly growing number of travelers being carried by Singapore Airlines on this route made even a five-day-per-week service insufficient to meet demand for this destination. In 2010 Singapore – Moscow – Houston flight has seen an increase in passenger traffic by 40% compared to the same period last year.

Hence starting from November this year passengers may enjoy a daily flight of the airline operated from Singapore though Moscow to Houston and back.

It should be noted that Houston (USA) is a unique destination for Moscow Aviation Hub: one can fly directly from Moscow to Houston only from Domodedovo Airport. More over the route is an attractive choice considering optimal price and travel time for passengers wishing to travel from Houston to Singapore or vice versa.

On November 1 2010 on the occasion of the new frequencies opening for the route Singapore – Moscow – Houston – Moscow – Singapore cake cutting ceremony took place in Domodedovo passenger terminal in the area of check in counters where passengers were registered to Singapore flight. Passengers were treated with the cake, tea, coffee and champagne. Passengers of Singapore flight were also given presents prepared by the airline and Domodedovo airport. The ceremony was attended by Mr Wong, General Representative to Singapore Airlines in Russia, and Mr Nekrasov, Domodedovo Airport Director.
