OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2010. A distillation deethanizer column of length 61 metres, diameter 6.26 metres and weight of around 800 tonnes was delivered to the installation area and set up on its foundation. After erection, the column was centered, aligned and fixed on its foundation with anchor bolts.

Installation of the column lasted about 6 hours. The lifting equipment was produced with the participation of experts from the Dutch company Mammoet and the Moscow installation company Trest №7. Special self-propelled transport trucks were used for the transportation of the column, and a portable gantry system was employed for the lifting.

A depropanizer column was the first to be installed in early October.

Background Information

The deethanizer column is designed to remove ethane and lighter materials from the process fluid flowing from the separation system.
