OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2010. As at 1 October 2010, 148 credit organizations are licensed to carry out bank operations. 101 of them are NBCIs. As at 1 October 2010, 47 banks are licensed, of them 1 is state owned, and 46 are private banks. 23 banks operate through participation of foreign capital, reported the press-centre of CBA.

Foreign capital constitutes 50% – 100% of the authorized capital of 7 banks, and less than 50% of the authorized capital of 14 banks. The number of local branches of foreign banks is 2.

The number of operating local bank branches is 646. 38 of them account for state, 608 for private banks. The number of banks with local branches is 42, and the number of bank departments is 119. The number of banking structures functioning abroad is 8. Of them 5 are representative offices, 2 – affiliates, and one is a branch.
