OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2010. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines assessed its performance in October and the 10 months of 2010, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

In October 2010 the passenger turnover of Aeroflot grew by 30.8% against the respective period of 2009 and reached 3 108 100 000 passengers per km. The number of passengers traveling Aeroflot increased by 24.0% to 985 100 passengers. Passenger transportation load on international flights increased by 30.1% (+147 700 passengers) and reached 637 700 passengers. Passenger transportation load on domestic flights increased by 14.1% (+43 000 passengers) compared to the respective period of 2009 and reached 347 400 passengers. Passenger seat occupancy rate in October was 79.6% which was 5.2 percentage points higher than in the previous year. The payload percentage was 65.8% which was 5.3 percentage points higher than the previous year.

Over the 10 months of 2010 the passenger turnover of Aeroflot constituted 29 359 500 000 passengers per km which was 36.0% higher than in the respective period in 2009. The number of passengers traveling Aeroflot increased by 30.5% and made up 9 517 900 passengers. Passenger seat occupancy rate  also increased up to 78.2% which was 8.6 percentage points higher than the previous year. The payload was 63.7% which was 8.2 percentage points higher than the previous year.

According to Vitali Saveliev, the head of Aeroflot Airlines Company, ’the company keeps increasing its pace, passenger turnover continues to increase even in the low season which suggests that the strategy of decreased expenses, improved quality of service and introduction of high tech along with retaining special emphasis of flight safety proves effective’.
