OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2010. ROSBANK has become a bank-partner in the programme known as the Russian Sustainable Energy and Carbon Finance Facility (RUSEFF) within the framework of its cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2010, EBRD granted a loan in the amount of RUR 875 million to ROSBANK in order to finance Russian companies’ projects aimed at raising energy efficiency and increasing the use of renewable energy sources.

RUSEFF is going to provide technical support to the bank and its corporate clients, primarily SMEs. The programme offers free-of-charge assistance to its partners to identify profitable energy-savings and renewable energy source projects, as well as to evaluate economic benefits and ecological effects, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

RUSEFF project Implementation Team consists of international and local experts from the companies MVV decon GmbH (Germany), ICF International (UK) and GFA Consulting Group (Germany) in cooperation with local partners in Moscow, St Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Ekaterinburg. The technical support to local banks and their clients is financed by the German Ministry of Environment’s International Climate Initiative and the EBRD’s Shareholder Special Fund.
