Lenta Proceeds with Opening Its Branded Cafes

The cafe in Novorossisk has become the company’s second fast-food project. Lenta’s costs related to its opening have made a little bit more than 1 million roubles. Cooking costs are also quite low – the supermarket already has suitable production facilities, and some of the dishes for this cafe will be cooked there.
In the premises of about 70 sq.m., in a pleasant atmosphere, customers may taste the dishes of Lenta’s own production: salads, pancakes, fritters and pies, draught beer "Novoross" and "Brewer", fresh juices. The cafe’s menu includes 40 names of main courses and snacks. Doughnuts will become the specialty of the new cafe.
"Not it is too early to talk about the first results, but we hope that the cafe "Lenta home cuisine" in Novorossisk will have good prospects. Domestic and “home-cooked” products are in good demand of the city dwellers. The share of the goods of own production makes about 11 % in the turn-over of the store, though the shop has begun its work just a little more than a year ago. Moreover, there is not a single doughnut cafe in Novorossisk today, hence, doughnuts and pancakes will certainly become our competitive advantage " - Alexey Belousov, director of Lenta trade store in Novorossisk, said.

"There is no doubt that opening of a cafe is a cost-based project if everything has to be started from zero: you will need communications, equipment, staff. However, if there are premises with proper communications, own production facility, trained staff knowing all the cooking processes, such costs are not so high and pay off much faster ", - the company’s press-service noted.
The company plans further development of the above project.
