OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2010. The port took delivery of a 5 mln. euro Ice Class Tug, which has been built at Changde Damen Shipyards (China) in compliance with the requirements of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Lloyd's Register of Shipping.

The tug 2509 was named Dobrynya. Principal particulars: length o.a. - 25.93 m, beam o.a. - 9.54 m, depth at side - 4.30 m, max. draft - 3.80 m, 2 x Caterpillar engines - 3,000 hp, max. speed - 12 knots. The tugboat is equipped with two steerable rudder propeller units with fixed pitch propellers in nozzles mounted in the aft ship which gives her good manoeuvrability. An ice-class vessel is capable of operating in broken ice conditions.

Keel laying took place in June 2009. On November 11, 2010 Commercial Port of Vladivostok accepted the tug delivered on the floating dock from Damen Shipyards Changde to the port of Shanghai by the Yangtze River. The Dutch crew on board has transported the tug Dobrynya under her own power from the port Shanghai to the port of Vladivostok. More than 1,400 mile passage in the East China Sea and the Sea of Japan took 6 days.

The tug Dobrynya is the second vessel which Commercial Port of Vladivostok took delivery in 2010 within the scope of port fleet upgrade project. This October the port also took delivery of the pilot boat. A 9 mln. ruble ship was constructed in Sacheon (Republic of Korea) at shipyard of Hannam Shipbulding Industry.
