OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. Cargo transportations by enterprises of all kinds of transport in January-October 2010 totaled 6 million 640,500 tones. It increased by 3.5% in comparison with the same period last year. According to the National Statistics Office, particularly, the growth of the indicator resulted from the increase in the volume of cargo transportations by the air transport by 53.1% - to 1,000 tones, as well motor transport – by 29%, to 3,511.6 thousand tones for 10 months of 2010.

At the same time, railway transport transported 3,018.4 thousand tones of goods in January-October 2010 or 14.5% down against the same period last year.

The largest share in the total volume of goods loaded at the railway stations in this period belonged to crops and floury production – 29.5%, ferrous metals and scrap metal – 21.4%, building materials and cement – 15.1%. Cargo transportation by the river transport for 10 months 2010 reduced by 31.3% totaling 109.5 thousand tones.
