OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. The Joint Stock Company United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has won the tender held by the Russian Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM) to deliver two Antonov An-148 jets. The agreement on the delivery was signed by Alexey Fedorov, UAC President, and Rafail Zakirov, Head of the Department of Aviation and Air-Rescue Technologies Department of EMERCOM, reported the press-centre of UAC.

The aircraft are to be supplied in 2012 and 2013. Prior to the delivery significant work will be done to develop layout special configuration of the aircraft to meet the Ministry’s requirements. The Voronezh Aircraft Manufacturing Company (VASO), will produce the aircraft. They will be configured for multi-mission capability including medical rescue operations and passenger transportation.

Antonov An-148 is an aircraft family designed for passenger, cargo-passenger and cargo transportation on regional and mid-range routes. It was developed by the Antonov Aeronautic Scientific and Technical Complex. VASO has been producing An-148-100 under a license since 2009. An-148-100 aircraft is certified in compliance with AP-25 Aviation Regulations for civil aircraft, harmonized with CS-25 European Norms. Noise level requirements are in compliance with the requirements of Chapter 4 of Annex 16 to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation and Volume II of Annex 16 concerning engine emission level requirements. Aircraft maintenance of An 148-100 jets meets the requirements of international standards (ICAO, MSG-3) and provides for continued airworthiness within its product life cycle.
