OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2010. The Uzbekistan-Thailand intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation held a session in Tashkent.

Heads of state bodies and companies from the two states related to foreign economic relations, oil and gas, trade, industry, science, technologies, tourism, customs, food, machinery building, pharmaceutical and other sectors participated in the session.

They considered issues of expansion of bilateral economic relations, including increasing mutual trade and opening new joint ventures.

The sides agreed both Uzbekistan and Thailand had huge potential for development of cooperation. The countries have signed agreements on avoiding double taxation, joint stimulation and protection of investments and on air communication.

The Thailand delegation visited a number of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan for talks on expansion of bilateral ties.
