OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2010. Mikhail Mikhailov has been appointed head of the TIR insurance department of the Directorate for the Insurance of Transport Companies of Ingosstrakh OJSIC. In his new capacity he will be responsible for developing the insurance of liability for customs risks related to the TIR procedure and other customs transit systems, as well as the liability of transport companies.

Mikhail Mikhailov was born in 1972. In 1994 he graduated from the Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University (major: Automated Data Processing and Control Systems). In 1998 he completed a training programme Transport Insurance and Legislation Review in the UK.

In 1994-2004 Mikhail Mikhailov was head of the insurance group in the business cooperation and services department of the Association of International Road Carriers of Russia. In 2004 through 2005, he was head of department with the Directorate for the Insurance of Non-Maritime Carriers in UralSib. In 2005-2010 he was employed by Russia OJSIC as head of department for the insurance of non-maritime carriers and more recently he has been employed as the transport insurance department deputy director.

Commenting on his appointment to the new position at Ingossstrakh, Mikhail Mikhailov noted that he would first of all focus on creating best possible conditions for insuring the risks of road carriers that use international customs transit procedures, as well as on strengthening relations with national associations of carriers in the CIS and the Baltic states and with the International Road Union (IRU).
