OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2010. UTair Aviation held its annual presentation at the offices of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations in New York. The modern development stage and upgrade operations of the UTair Aviation fleet were presented to the US diplomatic and business community by Mamed Kasumov, General Representative of UTair Aviation in the US.

Vitaly Churkin, the Permanent Ambassador of Russian Federation to the UN, and UTair General Director Andrey Martirosov were in attendance. Vitaly Churkin has singled out UTair Aviation among the Russian exporters of high-tech rotary wing aircraft services, underscoring it’s important role in providing the UN with helicopter transport services and stressing the positive dynamics of UTair's international development.

Andrey Martirosov also commented on UTair's steady business development and strengthening of the carrier’s positions. He especially stressed two key steps in UTair development, namely the company's 20 years of service support to the UN and its leading position among the Russian passenger carriers in the terms of passenger volume on domestic routes over the last year.

UTair Aviation is the largest provider of air transport services to the UN. More than 50UTair rotary wing aircraft are involved in supporting UN peace-keeping missions in Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sudan, Congo, Afghanistan and Nepal. Currently the volume of international contracts for UTair helicopter services stands at USD 400 m annually.

In addition to helicopter services provided to the UN, UTair international activity includes providing transportation support for power generation projects in India and Peru as well as firefighting support for South Africa, Turkey, Spain, Greece and other nations.
