OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2010. Following the meeting between representatives of the aeronautical authorities of Moldova and the Russian Federation, "Air Moldova" airline was granted the right to operate flights to a new destination in the Russian Federation, in the city of Surgut, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

The launching of the new flight on the international route Chisinau- Surgut-Chisinau is expected for the summer navigational season 2011. Flights will be operated on the new Embraer 190 aircraft, which has completed the fleet of "Air Moldova" in May of 2010.

Schedule of flight for this direction will be structured so as to ensure a minimum connecting time of Chisinau-Surgut-Chisinau flight, with other flights from Chisinau to European capitals within the route network of "Air Moldova" airline. In this way the company creates new conditions for the development of transfer traffic through the International Airport Chisinau.

The opening of a new route Chisinau-Surgut is part of the company's policy concerning expanding the route network in the dynamically growing demand for air travel.

"Air Moldova" airline flies direct to 17 destinations - Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Larnaca, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Moscow, St.Petersburg, Munchen, Kiev, offering to its passengers two Class of service - Business and Economy.

"Air Moldova" is the biggest Moldavian airline. It has more than 50% of air transportations registered on the national market.

On 10th of May, Air Moldova’s fleet was increased by a brand new aircraft Embraer 190 that arrived on base airport in Chisinau directly from manufacturer. The aircraft was named "Stefan cel Mare" during the inauguration ceremony.
