OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2010. Multipurpose Reloading Complex (“MRC”) in port of Ust-Luga, put into operation in January of 2009 within the implementation of the development programme of the group of the companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” overpassed the turnover of 2 mln. tons of cargoes within the period from January to November of 2010, having increased its key performance indicators by 65%.

Major cargoes of Multipurpose Reloading Complex are export cargoes, handling volumes of which increased by 64% - up to 1.98 mln. tons. In particular, within 2010  1.27 mln. tons of coal (+127% to figure of the previous year) and 697 thousand tons of pig iron (+23%) were handled. 

In order to increase the efficiency of the loading operations at the terminal 2 front loaders (KOMATSU) were purchased.  It is also planned to have 2 units of handling equipment (ATLAS) and 2 lift-trucks with the lifting capacities of 2 and 10 tons delivered next year. 46 mln. rubles were transferred for the acquisition of handling equipment.

In 2011 PLC “MRC” plans to reach its project capacity of 3 mln. tons per annum.

Multipurpose Reloading Complex started its activities on January 13, 2009. Terminal specializes in handling and storage of import and export general and bulk cargoes. Among its equipment used for handling operations are 10 gantry cranes with the lifting capacity from 16 to 32 tons and 16 various lift-trucks with the lifting capacity from 2.5  to 11.5  tons.
